I think the above list is in the best order. Once you have done your research and decide that you are ready to go, beg, borrow, steal, or buy the book Now You're Talking from any dealer that you can. (Some clubs will probably have at least one copy for you to borrow.)
Read this book! Once you have read it, let's go on to the Technician section of this site.
